Body and Soul: A Retreat of Physical Presence and Prayer

August 23-29 or September 6-12

Body and Soul is a chance to explore our holy inner and outer worlds in concert. This weeklong retreat (beginning on Monday with dinner, ending after breakfast on the following Sunday) will root participants in the ancient tradition of “Ora et Labora” (prayer and work).  Using the writings of Therese of Lisieux and Brother Lawrence as dialogue partners, retreatants will experience the joy of daily life balanced between silence and community, labor and prayer. Our physical work will include gardening tasks and meal preparation; there will be time daily for hiking, reading, swimming, and private prayer and meditation; there will be daily communal prayer and focused discussion as well as supported personal discernment.  All food is organic/local/ethically raised.  Private rooms, semi-private baths.

Cost: $675 per person, registration limited to 4 persons.

The August retreat has one remaining slot; the September retreat has three.

Special arrangements can be made for those who wish to work with an artist during the week; also, arrangements can be made for kayak rental from a local provider.
